Traveling on the cheap!

Hey everyone this is Rue! Finding travel deals is getting increasingly harder due to the rise in gas prices. If your travel planning consists of sitting in front of a computer screen for hours pouring over every travel website out there. It doesn't need to be that hard. Of course it still takes a little bit of planning but these tips can make it much less of a hassle.

1. Make an email account just for your travel emails. This prevents you getting an overload of emails that you most likely won't want to read and will just put in your spam box. Every once in a while check the email address and see what offers are open.

2. Sign up for the travel companies you use most, of course using your “travel” email address. Most companies will send coupons and special deals to their members.

3. Book at least 14 days out.  The best deals are usually found 3 months or more outside your travel dates.

4. Be flexible about your dates and airports. If you can give yourself a little room. Say a few days ahead of the time you want to travel or a few days after. Even different times can net you huge savings. Also if there is another large airport close to you check the prices there it may be worth the drive.

5. Use coupons. The specific state you are visiting usually has a website that has coupons for hotels, theme parks, or restaurants. Also if you are driving stop at the local rest stop. There are always coupon books for hotels or attractions.

Stay cheap!
